Obama has already chosen his VP?

Why do I have this nagging feeling that Senator Obama has already chosen his running mate? I also have the feeling he will surprise us.  Adding those two feelings that I can't back up at all. I will make a prediction Senator Obama will choose Senator Clinton. Senator Obama has always said he likes to surround himself with people who have strong even opposing views. Senator Clinton is definitely strong and of course has so much to offer.
I know some of you will say the Clintons have too much "baggage"
but I don't think that would scare Obama off. I personally like Edwards better but Senator Clinton would guarantee a stronger win. I know it's just speculation but I'm sure he decided his running mate a long time ago. Choosing Senator Clinton would surprise a great many people and the down side? We would have nothing to fight about anymore. Well at least for a few minutes.
Has Obama already chosen his running mate?

Defining Success President Obama's first term.

Senator Obama has said he would consider his first term a failure
if all troops were not withdrawn from Iraq, if health care was not affordable for all, and if the Economy was still in recession. Personally if he was to accomplish even the first two I would be satisfied. Creating an affordable health care system for all would be significant. Ending the Iraq war would save American lives and billions of dollars that could be used in other areas such as taking care of our wounded troops for the rest of their lives, Education, Foreign aid, and the list goes on. My question to you is what would satisfy you? What does President Obama have to accomplish to be rewarded with a second term? We disagree on many issues, even candidates, but we all have issues that mean something to us. I'm very curious to know what others believe to be their TOP issues. What would satisfy you and what would exceed your expectations? As you all know I love our candidate but once he is elected I will pressure him in any way I can. This is what a lot of people don't seem to understand, the people with the highest of hopes will demand the most of our president. No free rides from me, I demand results and I personally believe he will deliver. He needs our support and he needs to know what is important to us in order to lead effectively. I have never considered Senator Obama perfect or a God I consider him an intelligent man who sincerely wants to make America better.

We could have won the Vietnam War ! McCain

"We could have won the Vietnam war we just lost our will to fight" (John McCain)

About 60,000 Americans were killed during the Vietnam war and 300,000 Americans were wounded.
The number of Vietnamese killed and wounded runs into the millions.
The Vietnamese are still suffering the effects of Agent Orange and the land mines that blow off their limbs to this day.
Billions of Tears and Broken hearts.

And yet Senator McCain says we could have won if only we hadn't lost our will to fight. Does anyone doubt that Senator McCain would be willing to attack Iran at the drop of a hat?
Under McCain how long would we be stationed in Iraq?
I get the feeling Senator McCain is not afraid of War at all. In my opinion under a McCain adminstration we could slip into world War 3 as quickly as you can say stubborn old man. Senator McCain gives "experience" a bad name. This wouldn't just be a third bush term. McCain would leave his "mark" and you can bet American blood would spill. If you think Bush has been bad wait until McCain takes office. Bush will look like a pacifist in comparison to where McCain will take us. To those of you who consider Senator McCain an option I ask you to consider who will pay the ultimate price for your vote and for what? I know one thing for sure, McCain will never lose his will to Fight!  Joe Conason's report at realclear politics or Salon has more on this

Somewhere Senator Clinton is working her heart out to change America.

While we were debating amongst ourselves Senator Clinton was working her heart out to ensure our troops come home, that Health care is available, and all the other benefits an Obama Presidency would bring. Meanwhile McCain and his Rovian "proteges" are preparing to stop all this. They are not interested in ending the war without "victory" They won't change
health care except for making sure you can't choose to have an abortion, yet we are talking on Mydd about how Hiliary must be taking great pleasure in Obama being scrutinized. While others are insinuating without a trace of evidence that Obama suporters are shutting down pro Obama blogs that dare to question his actions. If this was the case MYdd would be the first to be shut down. While other diaries imply he might be an anti abortionist. The latest "Talking Points" by McCain focus on you can't believe a word Obama says he's a "typical politician" that treated Senator Clinton unfairly and who won't end the war. The Republicans would love to instill division within our party and of course this is their strategy. This is why I admire Senator Clinton so much she has her eyes on the prize. For her changing America far outweighs any personal goals. Let's keep debating the issues but let's not forget Rove, McCain, Bush and the America they have created.

Thank you MyDD

I don't know what happened this weekend but there were so many Great diaries this is not one of them and it isn't meant to be.
But as someone mentioned in their wonderful diary this is our moment!(MMR2) We have the opportunity to change the planet for the better. Another diary talked about the North Pole and how it could be a lake by September. These are important issues that we can effect positively. Other diaries reached out to thoses still bruised by the primaries. Of course the war and photos of our soldiers was the most reccomended diary. Then we had a few diaries actually praising and supporting our nominee. This was a dream weekend for me because I always thought that this was a place to exchange and challenge ideas for the purpose of making it better for everyone. Thank you for taking the time to lift us all up. We have a lot of work to do until November and even more after January 20th P.S. No comments are required. Thank you Mydd

Some are Trolls and others are Heroes

The Trolls are working well together these days. One writes the diary and another is the first to comment. Of course they all have something in common Obama is my guy BUT............When will McCain supporters realize they are on the wrong side of history. Senator Obama and Senator Clinton are leading us out of this nightmare. Independents, Democrats, and even a few Republicans understand that Senator McCain is no different from President Bush except McCain's history of sexism.  While our Soldiers are getting killed and thousands wounded physically and mentally the trolls are at work. How you can be doing this while so many people are suffering is beyond me. I would ask sincerly to consider all the people suffering because of the last eight years and what a 3rd term would mean to those who put their LIVES on the line every day to help others. McCain Trolls not supporters should really look in the mirror and ask themselves. Is this the best I can do with my life?

Malcolm X and Martin Luther King

Lately I've noticed some of my fellow Democrats are not willing to give an inch on some issues. I admire and respect that and there are thoses who are more flexible which I also respect. Many of you have supported Senator Clinton in what was a very emotional and hard fought race and yet you are getting behind Senator Obama. This of course was difficult and painful because you believe Senator Clinton is the best Candidate. You have given up your first choice for the benefit of the American people. We all have one thing in common we want to see our issues implemented. We want action. In order for this to happen we need momentum to pass laws, to do this we need overwhelming support from the American people and we need to work with Republicans. If we enter the White House with a tidal wave of support we can accomplish so much. Malcolm X was a person who would not give an inch but as he once said I made Martin Luther King look good. I agree Malcolm X played the "Bad" guy. Meanwhile Martin luther King had the ear of President Johnson.

McCain and Bush a legacy of War, Torture,Secret prisons, and Roe vs Wade

Through the years McCain has surrounded himself with yes people
so he has grown lazy and arrogant which is why he is always off balance. He seems surprised when people disagree or challenge him.
It's as if he expects us to just accept it.

Drilling for Oil in Florida, Alaska, and else where,
Continuing the war,
Supporting George W,
Hiring former lobbiest Charlie Black as his chief strategist (not an aide) "an attack on America would be good for McCain"
Overturning Roe vs Wade

Bush and his crew of criminals have transformed America to such an extent that I hardly recognize it. Secret prisons, Torture,
Big Brother policies just to name a few. McCain wants to continue
this "legacy" of war and manipulation. Charlie Black and McCain believe if people are scared enough this will help his campaign.
Fear is helping Senator Obama now because we all fear one thing.
A third Bush term.

I'm sure McCain will inherit the 23% approval rating our current president has but not too much more. McCain and Bush represent all that is bad about the Republican party. Bush and McCain want to control the media and a woman's body. Really George W and McCain have made the Republican party what it is today PATHETIC! Is it any wonder that people want a change from all this? McCain is such a "Maverick" he has nothing to stand on but quicksand. Thank you Karl Rove you have created such a negative legacy that your party will reap it's just "rewards". You were "Brilliant" and President Obama and the Democratic party Thank you.

P.S. Help Obama pay off Senator Clinton's debt.
